Cut
Our kimonos are completely lined all the way down, including the sleeves without seams and respecting the measurements, proportions and cuts of a traditional kimono.
Reinforced tomoeri.
¾ Sleeves open on the sides and inside.
The color of the lining matches the color of the outer patterns, so you can wear it open as a long coat.
Patterns
Our designs and patterns are carefully and strategically placed in specific areas of the kimono during manufacture.
This allows us to create a unique piece. The patterns are made by designers from around the world that we work with, and each piece has an inspirational story behind its creation.
All parts are made in Portugal (EU). The handmade manufacturing process is done on a small scale in our Atelier, allowing us to control the quality of all the pieces sent.
The weight and feel of the fabric is carefully chosen to achieve the perfect match of robustness, comfort and fluidity, allowing the kimono to be used as a single piece, or as an over-coat on top of other cloths, and always as the main highlight piece.
Tako Kimono is a statement piece, a must have in any capsule wardrobe. Because it doesn't follow trends, it never goes out of fashion.
Inspiration
Tako Means Octopus in japanese language.
Our latest launch was the “Tako” Kimono Inspired by the ancient legend of the giant octopus “ Akkorokamui”, feared by the men of the island of Hokkaido who did not dare go near the sea during sunrise and sunset. They said that even the sky turned red when this creature emerged from the waters. Akkorokamui octopus is today a symbol of power, rebirth and seduction. And so are Gōkana women.
